My Transformations
My life has been transformed in at least three ways:
PHYSICALLY
I was born on the Lower East Side of New York. I grew up in a ghetto, in poverty, in the middle of the Great Depression. I did not see any trees. Today, I live comfortably, in my own home, in a quiet, pleasant, residential neighborhood, in the tree-lined suburbs of a beach city: Long Beach, California.
EMOTIONALLY
As a youth I was so timid that I crossed to the other side of a street to avoid meeting people. I was afraid to speak up, and buried myself in books. Today I am confident enough to speak before any size and type of group, and inspire the people in my audience to paint a vision to guide their life.
INTELLECTUALLY
I got out of the ghetto by working my way through City College and becoming a computer engineer working on solid hardware. But as my career progressed, I became more involved in software and then with people. Today my focus is primarily on climate change.

To help other people paint their visions and live their visions in the face of terrorism, through the platform, the book, the Internet
Major Interests
THE COMPUTER AND SOCIETY
I started in the '50s with Eckert and Mauchly, inventors of the ENIAC, which later became the UNIVAC, the first commercial computer. Since then, I've seen how this million-dollar behemoth, which could only be used by huge centralized corporations, became the small, cheap building block that enables any individual to exercise power on the Internet.
PERSONAL VISION
In today's world, you need a vision to guide you. Properly framed, this vision can not only lead you to self-actualization, it can also enable you to reduce terrorism! I enjoy helping people paint such a grand vision.
Major Abilities
WRITE
I am an excellent writer. I can use soaring rhetoric to inspire, clear prose to explain complex concepts, and down-to-earth examples to convince the reader. I have written 3 computer books - Understanding Digital Computers, Strategic Planning of Management Information Systems, and Expert Systems;1 book about climate change,Planning the Energy Revolution, which recommends means for smooth planning the transition from carbon fuels to non-carbon fuels; 1 book about vision,
Design Your Future, which has been acclaimed by many as a means for people to reach self-fulfillment; 1 book on Internet marketing, Helpfulness Marketing, which emphasizes learning, cooperation and community; and a book on how to live in an age of terror, called WE DON'T AGREE, BUT.... I also blog about cooperation.
SPEAK
I am an interesting, informative and entertaining speaker, and a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). I have presented inspirational speeches about vision; given practical seminars on Internet marketing; and taught computer subjects at universities, corporations and associations. I am now speaking on "How to Live in a World of Terrorism."
